Saying Pepper is the average sand cat would be like saying pigs are born green; it's just not true. Rather, Pepper is a graceful creature with feathery fur and brown stripes down her back and tail. If a cat could resemble another animal in any way, one could say this little flutterer resembles a Tasmanian Tiger. One could also say she resembles an oddly colored owl of sorts, with those red eyes and wide, soft wings. Feathery fur along her legs, tail, back and paws makes for a silent flight, and a slender build and small size makes it all too easy for this flexible girl to take to the air. As far as anyone can tell, she has no noticeable scars. She's a great blend of balance and stealth, with a patient stare, giving her away as a terrific huntress. As if those sharp claws and fangs didn't say that already.

Behind red eyes and sandy fur, you'd expect something of an amazon, yes?
You wouldn't be too far off. When she's not busy hunting and patrolling the skies, she's hovering around the nursery, tending to the mothers and their kits. A caring, loyal and trustworthy cat, few in the tribe think poorly of her. She's not the friendly, bubbly thing you'd expect, like she was as a kit, but laid-back and calm, seeing things through clear and careful eyes.
Pepper's not perfect, though. She's admittedly a bit of a downer, or a killjoy. While other cats cheer on the idea of peace and victory in the coming war, this stripped feline sits back and predicts the coming destruction- Well, maybe it's not -that- bad. But she's not a hippie. War brings death, sorrow and hate fuels it on. It's something she knows all too well.
Unlike many of her clan mates, Pepper's not about to leap into battle mercilessly. Rather, she fights with a sort of... flare. Her main goal in battle is to scare her foe away before ever laying a claw on them. Not too hard a task, with such large wings. She uses the territory's crevices and hiding spots to her advantage, and if there's a tree, she's sure to be waiting in the branches, hidden and ready to swoop down like a true owl.

Pepper wasn't always Pepper... What I mean is, when she was a kit, the tribe knew her as 'feather'. It had been her intended name at the time, as she'd been nothing more than a pale gold ball of fur and down. When she began speaking, she couldn't quite pronounce her own name, saying 'phepher' rather than feather. It wasn't long before everyone knew her as Pepper, and even her own mother decided the name suited her better.
Another good point in her history would be her first six months, and the habits she had before she was ready to fly. Due to her wings growing a bit slowly, and the runt size of her all together, Pepper often found herself hiding in trees and in small areas others of her age and tribe wouldn't be able to fit into. A few times it caused injuries to her wings, but she'd learn to bend and fold her wings to her body in a way that she could adjust without injuries. This habit came from a single game of hide-and-seek with her mother, when she was just a young kit. Her mother had been pushed to a panic before the little sand cat came out of hiding, mewling her apologies and receiving both a scolding for scaring her mother, and praise for being such a terrific hider.
It simply stuck, and into her adult years, the young she-cat found more and more hiding places in the territory. She created her own style of hunting, a silent method that needed patience and stealth to accomplish well. She went from to-be to huntress at an early age. Her style became her signature, used in battles now as well as hunting and scouting. When asked to teach some techniques to the to-be's, it came as a surprise to hear her say she wouldn't teach it to just any cat. Perhaps, one day, when she has her own apprentice or litter, the lessons will be passed. For now, it's something on Pepper's mastered.
