F r o z e n flakes falling to the G r o u n d
As played by Frozenground
Th skies above where clouded in a semi-darkness. There were a few patches were the life giving rays of the sun poured through and gave small patches of grass the energy they needed to create food for themselves. Otherwise only darkness plagued the world around the feline as he walked slowly on through the territory. He let his jaw drop open slightly and took a few deep breaths of the radiant air around him, taking in the pleasurable scents as he did so. The voices in his mind that he perceived to be his conscious were dimmer that day and he loved the feeling that he had at least a small fraction of his mind to himself that day. To see the world in a better light and to actually enjoy life for the first time in who knows who long. It was on these sort of days that he tried to avoid thinking about the things he knew brought on the rush of those voices, causing them to talking faster and louder. He knew one thing for sure triggered it: his duties. The more he realized how much was pressed on him to keep the Tribe safe, the faster and louder those voices became until they were a torrent clouding his judgments. Another, was his past. Everything he had done that he regretted. Especially wit the memory of his mate.
Stop it, gosh dang it! Just enjoy the day for once! You don't get a chance like this every day, now suck it up and deal with it. Taking one last deep breath, Frozenground closed his eyes and he tried to picture a serene image of a forest, the leaves rustling in a soft wind and he imagined the scents that would be reaching his nose. The sweet scent of mouse and hearing its small feet pattering on the ground as it ran about on the search for food. The calling of the birds as they signaled to one another their own searching for what they needed and the beauty of their songs as they sang in the open air, echoing through the forest. He tried to imagine the feeling of the wind picking up around him that would also cause the leaves to start rustling louder and he could see their patterns as they moved greatly in the stronger force. Smiling, he watched as a few of those leaves fell to the ground, loosing their grip on the branches that sustained them. And there it was, the final act that forced the image away. A sudden bolt of lightning and his eyes jerked open.
The male prophet stood there, his eyes staring straight at his paws, his breathing coming fast and strong. He could feel the rasping of his breathing as it rippled through his throat, causing him to cough every now again as he tried to clear it so the air had an easier passage. His eyes glanced up to the sky quickly, fearful and he noticed that the sky was getting darker. Those few patches that had been up in the sky earlier, were now gone. Not a single ray of sunlight danced on the ground. You'd better ruin like the coward you are, looking for shelter. You don't wanna get hurt now do you? one of those dreaded voices whispered mockingly in his mind and his legs jolted him forward, his eyes training into the tree that stood alone in the open planes. Alone.... Alone, just as he was alone. His siblings gone or dead, hid mate dead by his own claws. As he reached the base of the tree, he sat down and his forehead was placed on the bark. Alone...alone besides for the kits I share this world with. They are the only ones, that keep me going in the morning. Them and my tribe. My tribe trusts me, and I need to be worthy of such trust. His eyes slid shut and he could feel a soft drizzle of rain coming down from the sky now.

eclipse. the rain poured down as lightning shattered the sky. his ears were plastered down to his skull, eyes squinted. as his tail stuck between his legs, he gritted his teeth and mewled like a sopping wet kit. he absolutely hated this cowardly position of his, but he obeyed his fear of water and continued to trudge on in search of shelter. thundering light flashed through the clouds, shields of darkness blocking the sun's warmth. it came down on all sides, chaos reigning in the storm. brief but terrific storms came like this occasionally, and eclipse was not one to favor them. he continued to bound, crawl, and mewl. he had merely been taking a walk in the territory, looking for his father... and now in this storm? he was surely in danger! "father!" he yowled, trying to defeat the volume of the winds, although it was a feeble attempt. gritting his teeth some more, he growled and continued on with all his might against the powerful winds. it was like a monsoon! as the gusts never-endingly came, it nearly swept eclipse off his feet. he let out a yelp of surprise, but determination bettered his fear. "father, where are you?" he coughed up the air that got caught in his lungs; the whipping wind at his flanks stung; the rain was even more painful, soaking his pelt and freezing him to the bone. the hurricane was ruthless.
still, he persevered. the winds gradually slowed down a bit, but they were still a threat to his mission: to find his father. earlier, in the camp, he had a feeling it was going to rain; he'd felt it in his whiskers. just about now he thought all of them were torn off. with or without them, he was going to find his father. his father was not only his kin and half of eclipse's dna, but he was also the prophet, and the prophet was to be protected and watched over by every fighter, guard and battler alike. since he was a battle trainee, he held that special desire to protect fueled by that same desire of the other fighters around him. when he realized his father wasn't in camp and the storm was coming, he felt that same impulse as well as a desire for praise from the rest of his tribe if he had success in finding his father. by now, many cats would be searching throughout the camp; at least, if they even noticed.
the longer he walked, the more slight pang of guilt he felt; eclipse had never had a very close relationship with frozenground. to be sure, there was something strange about the odd-eyed prophet, but eclipse could never quite pinpoint what it was. he was... different. it was as if he was troubled and divided. eclipse knew being prophet was a tough job, but... something was wrong with him. it was that strange aura that eclipse felt around his father that made him uncomfortable to be in his presence. still, a father was a father and a prophet was a prophet, and he needed to find him. the storm was brutal, especially to such a young cat like him, and many a time he nearly blew away in the major winds. as much as they decreased in their brutality, he still felt battered, and he needed to rest. when he lifted his head, his heart thumped nervously; at first, he thought he'd strayed into a different territory, for he was moreso used to defending and strolling in the forests. this, however, was a plain. he almost believed he was in stars above territory, but he pushed that thought from his mind. they have valleys and lots of dark and eerie forests, not open plains that are... golden. this has to be rising sun territory. panting, he squinted and looked farther, as far as he could with such water in his golden eyes. he finally spotted a tree, one with gnarled branches and considerable shelter. his eyes widened; his blood pumped fiercely through his veins. he was encouraged, and as sore as his muscles were, he leaped in wide bounds to the tree. at last, he'd reached it. relaxing, he took the last few steps into a drier area, although the wind still brought moisture to his white and tan pelt. he inched forward, cuddling next to a windbreak, where the trunk lay. fluffing up his fur, he closed his eyes.
as he did so, however, he sniffed the air and perked his ears. he sprung to his paws, eyes wide. one thought jolted through his mind. father! his maw opened, and as much water that came into his mouth, he gurgled at the top of his lungs. "father! father!"
